Old Delhi Street Food Photo Workshop

In the last couple of weekends I took a small group of photographers to explore the street food of Old Delhi as a part of a project Dilli 6 organized by The Fuschia Tree. The workshop consisted of two gallery meetings and two photo walks in Old Delhi. We all met at Chandni Chowk metro satation and walked through the alleys, starting with Natraj Dahi Bala wala, Paratha wali gali, Chowri Bazar, and Jama masjid area on a Friday afternoon.

Here are a few images from the photo walk.

It is always a great place. no matter how many times I go, there is always something new to shoot. Hot but worth it!

love the images, Sephi . . . they have a wonderful sense of “being in there”. i can taste, smell, feel the food and place through these images . . .
You have moved a step closer from the time you shot for the street food book and are obviously much more at ease with the surroundings and familiar with the subject. These are pictures from a person who feels very much at home . . . :-)

Dinesh, don’t you always wish you could start a book all over again once you have published it? I know what you mean about the feel and being at home. I do see the difference in these images from what I used to shoot before. I hope I always keep changing and growing, and yes, I do feel at home in India now :-)

You are right about that, Sephi . . . wanting to start a Book all over again . . .
‘Bazaar’, whether I like it or not, has defined me as a Photographer in the eyes of many people I know and who i have worked with. However, I feel i have moved far from it . . but its a subject which still fascinates me and would love to do it all over again . . :-)
